Applied Behavior Analysis
ABA is based on the science of learning and behavior. ABA therapy applies the knowledge of the field to behavior treatments in a way that helps to increase useful or desired behaviors. ABA also applies this knowledge to help reduce behaviors that may interfere with learning or behaviors that may be harmful.
One of ABA’s most effective techniques is positive reinforcement. When a behavior is followed by something that is valued, that positive behavior is more likely to be repeated.
Evidence based means that ABA has passed scientific tests of its usefulness and has been shown to be effective in managing behavior.
A BEST-PRACTICE TREATMENT
ABA is considered an evidence-based best-practice treatment by the US Surgeon General and by the American Psychological Association.
We understand not everyone has ease of mobility. And while we’re proud to serve the northern Utah area with our Layton clinic, we provide telehealth services for anyone seeking help.
ABA skills training programs for young children are often based in the home and require special materials and a dedicated area for working.
Therapy may include 1 – 2 hours of parent training per week. This training will help parents improve the treatment’s overall effectiveness.
A core part of our approach to ABA is to include all the individuals that play an active role in your child’s life. Making them a powerful part of the solution.
All data is taken using our online platform and graphed on a daily basis. Our programs are based on data, and update according to each child’s individual results.
