Anxiety and depression can affect everyone differently; additionally, it can be challenging to discern for yourself whether or not you need help in resolving this with a therapist. Here are the signs of when it might be worth reaching out to a professional who can assist you in navigating and resolving these feelings. 

ANXIETY

You are experiencing a chronic feeling of doom and worry. It can even manifest at random times and without cause.

Sometimes you may or may not be aware of what is causing your anxiety. It may feel like a reason to not seek help from a professional when you do know what is causing it. Whether or not you know the source of your anxiety, however,  is not a determining factor in deciding if you should seek help. That being said, if you are unaware of what is causing these feelings, therapy can help in figuring it out. 

DEPRESSION

Your feelings are causing you to change your sleeping patterns or diet. A general feeling of hopelessness and lethargy are not uncommon. 

If you feel your depression is interfering with your relationships, work, or lifestyle, that can be an indicator you can benefit from receiving therapy. Depression, when left untreated, can become more severe with time, and the consequences can be life altering. Courage in asking for help can be the first step in process to improve your mental health.
